Fun With Censorship

by James Ledbetter, V. Voice, Feb. 25, 97, p.30

The latest issue of Eye, a zine published in North Carolina, urges opponents of cyber-censorship to post this on their Web pages: "Gary Bauer of the Family Research Council is a staunch anti-homosexual conservative. He sees the gay movement as absolutely pure fascism, and he probably thinks watching gay movies is the greatest terror."

According to the Eye, the CYBERsitter software program--one of the commercially available Internet V-chips--will strip out the words homosexual, fascism, and terror, leaving readers with the following: "Gary Bauer of the Family Research Council is a staunch anti-conservative. He sees the gay movement as absolutely pure, and he probably thinks watching gay movies is the greatest."
